History
In September of 1978, John A. Page, a 32
year old insurance agent invested mainly with conviction
and passion, set up the small practice in Oshawa, Ontario.
It wasn't the best time to be going into financial planning,
no one knew what it was and no one gave it any importance.
Despite all the challenges, John Page was determined to
create a world class wealth management business.
Rather than manage each aspect of a client's
financial world in isolation, providing tax advice, investment
advice or retirement planning, John Page recognized an
important truth many people overlook-all aspects of a
person's financial world are linked. Every decision that
is make today has a profound impact on long-term goals.
John founded the company of strategic financial
advisors in 1978 because he knew that most of us have
neither the time, expertise nor the inclination for the
ongoing research and disciplined implementation needed
for a solid financial plan.
In fact, even those with the expertise often
neglect this most important part of their life. Therefore,
most do little financial planning, or none at all; but
for those who would like a little help we're always here.
For those who ultimately engage us, it can
be the beginning of a new level of freedom from anxiety
caused by questions that may have plagued them for years.
At page we believe our clients know where they are going
and how they are going to get there. They also know that
we will more than do our part to facilitate that journey.
A New Strategy For Wealth
Late in 2002 the Ontario Securities Commission
(OSC) declared a new model for financial professionals
when dealing with their clients called the "Fair
Dealings Model". This document outlines how the relationship
with various financial clients should be conducted-but
Page and Associates had already built a foundation based
on relationships not transactions with their clients which
put them well above the average financial service well
before the rules were set in place.
Our Wealth Enhancement Process has always
built strong relationships as well as strong portfolios.
It's this process, our strategy, that is the key ingredient
missing from the affairs of most people's financial plans,
and it's precisely what makes us the best at what we do.
Miles Ahead of the Crowd
1978
Was
one of the first in Canada to "buck the system"
of representing a single, insurance company. We opened
an independent insurance brokerage office in 1978 which
served high net worth individuals who were interested
in doing in-depth estate planning.
1980
Our office pioneered the use of Universal Life policies
as a tax sheltered investment-15 years ahead of the major
financial institutions
1985
Recipient of the prestigious National Management Award
given by LIMAC (Life Insurance Managers Association of
Canada) for outstanding achievement in the development
of financial advisors
1987
Authored a landmark 18month consulting report for one
of the major financial conglomerates in Canada which accurately
predicted the way financial services would be delivered
in the future.
1990
We developed a practical method of money management for
individuals using a passive asset allocation model called
Balanced Asset Management. 7-8 years later, systems based
on similar methodologies were introduced by all the major
banks in Canada.
2001
Developed and tested since the mid 80's, Page and Associates
incorporates the Wealth Enhancement Process into PlanPlus,
a leading international financial planning software. The
processes developed at Page and Associates are now being
regularly implemented by major financial institutions.
Who We Are and What We Do
In personal financial management, nothing is as important.
Yet, if you take a good look into the financial affairs
of most people, a strategy is precisely what you would
find missing. At Page and Associates, a strategic financial
advisory firm, understanding the importance of a sound
strategy is a key element to our success. Rather than
manage each aspect of a client's financial world in isolation
- we recognize an important truth. All aspects of a person's
financial world are inextricably linked. In other words,
every decision we make today will have a profound impact
on our long-term goals. As strategic financial advisors,
our philosophy is that today's decisions determine tomorrow's
financial destiny. Our strategic advice gives our clients
the knowledge they need to make the best decisions. In
today's world, this is a decided advantage.

do our part to make it happen as easily as possible.

Page Tenets
1. Everyone should have a plan to
become and remain financially independent
2. The plan should have the endorsement of all key family
members
3. Appreciable wealth is not created overnight, but requires
time
4. Once created, wealth should be preserved
5. Today's decisions will determine tomorrow's financial
destiny
6. No financial decisions should be made without first
considering all of the facts
7. Few people can be totally objective about their own
personal situation
8. Attainment of our goals and objectives should be a
"shared responsibility" with your advisor
